Vintage Glacoide Advertising Sign for Mena Pils, Belgium, 1954
Authentic vintage advertising sign for Mena Pils, Belgium, dated 1954.
Dimensions: height 34.5 cm, width 24.5 cm, depth 0.5 cm.
The sign shows a charming 1950s illustration of a smiling man holding up a foaming glass of pilsner. A bold blue diagonal banner with the text “Mena Pils” in strong white lettering gives the piece its classic mid-century café and beer advertising look.
At the lower right, the original reference “T.P.B. 2974-652-1954” is visible, allowing the piece to be dated to 1954. On the reverse, a partly preserved producer’s label remains visible, mentioning “Tableau Cellulit Cadre” and Rob. Otten, Bruxelles.
The sign is made as a glacoide / cellulit advertising panel: a printed image with a glossy protective surface, set in a metal frame. It is preserved in very good condition, with normal age-related wear, light wear to the frame and small traces of use consistent with its age.
A highly decorative and original collector’s piece, perfect as a vintage accent in a bar, kitchen, mancave, café interior, shop display or collection of Belgian beer advertising.
