Tengu (天狗) are mythical creatures from Japanese folklore, often regarded as protectors of mountains and temples, but also known as mischievous spirits with supernatural powers.

This mask is highly decorative, featuring deep carving details and original layers of red pigment that give it a powerful, almost theatrical presence. The teeth, eyes, and eyebrows are carefully accentuated, and the entire piece radiates the raw energy of a guardian spirit.
