Product Details

Expressive, organically shaped display board carved from solid rootwood, with lively natural edges and a deep warm reddish-brown surface.

Dimensions: height 95 cm, width 80 cm, depth 6.5 cm.

The top is hand-planed flat and shows a rhythmic pattern of growth rings; the sides remain rough and irregular—exactly that wabi-sabi character you want. The wood is hard and dense, likely a Japanese hardwood such as keyaki (zelkova) or camphor.

Used in Japan as a ne-ita display slab, it works as a stage for tea ceremony or ikebana: place a vase, chabana arrangement, ceramic bowl or suiseki and the scene instantly gains depth and calm. Equally beautiful as a low display on a sideboard or table. Thanks to the natural contours, the piece can also be mounted horizontally on the wall as sculptural art; a discreet French cleat or hidden brackets will do.

In lovely, authentic condition with natural checks, knots and surface variations that enhance its character—a versatile styling piece for interior designers, tea lovers and wabi-sabi fans.
