Adorable Japanese Vintage Kokeshi Doll, 1960s
This charming vintage Kokeshi doll from the 1960s is a beautiful example of traditional Japanese folk art.
Dimensions: Height 27 cm, diameter 12 cm. Signed on the bottom with a red stamp by the maker.
The doll is dressed in a kimono adorned with delicately painted floral motifs in vibrant shades of red, orange, and purple. The blossoms are accented with fine black brushstrokes suggesting leaves and branches, creating an overall sense of warm, feminine elegance.
The bottom of the kimono features a playful red-and-white pattern, adding depth and a touch of color contrast.
Her face is modest and sweet, with closed eyes and a serene expression, while the rounded hairstyle is finely carved and topped with a red hair ornament — a detail that gives her a cheerful, almost dreamy presence.
Over time, the wood has developed a beautiful natural patina. A superficial hairline crack is visible in the photo, but it does little to detract from the piece and even enhances its authentic vintage charm.
A unique piece with a pronounced kawaii factor, perfect for adding a touch of Japanese softness and character to any interior.
