Set of Vintage Zabuton Floor Cushions with Floral Motif, 1960s
This set of five Japanese zabuton was made for comfortable floor seating, for example in a tatami room or during a tea ceremony. Today, they also work beautifully as a warm interior accent—placed loosely on the floor, in a reading corner, around a low table, or stacked as a sculptural textile object.
Afmetingen: height 7 cm, width 58 cm, depth 56 cm.
The covers are made from a satin-like fabric with a soft sheen. The base colour shifts between golden ochre, mustard and olive, featuring a large stylised floral—almost firework-like—motif that radiates across the surface in dark blue-grey lines. The design feels graphic and modern, yet remains soft and inviting thanks to the colour palette and the fabric. Along the edges you can see the typical finishing with cords and stitched seams, fitting the age and use of the pieces.
Condition: in very good vintage condition, with subtle signs of age and light wear (see detail photos), without affecting the overall look.
