Beautiful handwoven Japanese bamboo basket with an elegant tall handle in a refined, crossed design.

The basket is made from wide and narrow bamboo strips in warm brown tones, with a subtle colour gradient from light to dark. The rim is carefully twisted and the base shows a tightly woven pattern.

This type of basket was traditionally used in Japan for carrying harvests and market goods, but it was also used by flower arrangers to present ikebana compositions.

Today, the basket fits effortlessly into a contemporary interior: perfect as a fruit basket or simply as a decorative object in its own right.
