​Tokkuri Sake Bottle with Drip Glaze, 1950s–60s, Japan

A characterful, handcrafted Japanese sake bottle from the 1950s–60s, with a beautifully rounded form and distinctive decorative drip glaze.

Dimensions: H 26 × Ø 15 cm.

Warm sand-beige earthenware is complemented by a deep blue-green glaze, flowing from the neck over the shoulders in fine, irregular patterns. Subtle crackling and nuances of turquoise, petrol blue and earthy tones give the surface a rich appearance.

This traditional tokkuri is in very good condition.

A refined example of Japanese ceramic craftsmanship that also makes a beautiful standalone decorative object in a contemporary interior.
