Product Details

Beautiful Bizen ikebana flower vase from the 1960s.

Dimensions: height 12.5 cm, width 7 cm, depth 6.5 cm. The vase is in perfect condition and marked at the bottom.

Bizen ware is known for its simple, rustic forms and its rich, reddish-brown glaze. It is made from iron-rich clay fired in a wood kiln at high temperatures. The firing process can take several days, and the results are often unpredictable, with flames and smoke creating unique variations in the color and texture of the glaze.

Bizen ware is one of the oldest types of Japanese pottery, with a history dating back to the 6th century.
