Antique Japanese Wooden Bowl, Kibachi, 1910
Beautiful kibachi — a traditional Japanese kneading bowl, hand-carved from solid wood. The bowl has a deep, organic shape and a rich dark-brown patina that reflects decades of use.
Dimensions: height 17 cm, diameter 55 cm.
Two burned kanji markings are visible on the outside, likely a workshop emblem. The bowl shows characterful signs of age along the rim and underside — authentic details that emphasize its wabi-sabi charm.
Inside, circular carving traces and subtle discoloration from long use remain visible.
With its generous size, this is not only a historical utensil but also a striking decorative piece. Perfect as a centerpiece on a table or sideboard, filled with fruit, textiles, or ceramics — or simply displayed as a sculptural object expressing Japanese simplicity and calm.
