Byōbu 屏風 Japanese Chamber Screen Shōwa

Byōbu 屏風, literally 'wind wall', used to create private space and to subdivide rooms.

This folding screen consists of six panels. The panels depict six scenes related to the Boshin War (戊辰戦争, Boshin Sensō ). A war in which samurai also took part. The prints were provided with text, naming several well-known military officers.
The prints are signed/stamped by the artist.
Beautiful and original interior piece with history! Perfect as a room divider or for in the dressing room.
The screen dates from the Shōwa period (1926-1989) and is in good condition.
Dimensions: height 155 cm, width 6 x 56 cm, depth 2 cm.
To be collected from our shop in Antwerp.
