This Tanuki statue, crafted from Shigaraki clay, represents a mythical creature from Japanese folklore.

Dimensions: height 26 cm, width 20 cm, depth 18 cm.

The Tanuki is a mischievous Japanese raccoon dog with magical powers, characterized by its round belly, oversized scrotum, and a bottle of sake.

In Japan, Tanuki statues are placed at the entrance of homes, shops, and restaurants to bring good fortune, protection, and prosperity.
