Elegant Japanese Tea Cabinet / Storage Cabinet – 1910s–1920s
Subtle Japanese cabinet with a sober, balanced design.
Dimensions: height 95 cm, width 95 cm, depth 41 cm.
The warm wood grain on the front contrasts beautifully with the matte black lacquered sides and top.
The layout is both refined and highly practical. At the top is a smaller compartment with two small sliding doors. In the middle is a larger compartment with two wide sliding doors. Behind these sits a beautiful asymmetrical tiered shelf arrangement, combined with two small drawers. Along the bottom runs a row of three drawers across the full width of the cabinet.
It is precisely this combination of clean exterior lines and a playful yet functional inner structure that makes the piece so appealing. It works perfectly as a tea cabinet or storage piece, but also as a subtle focal point in a living room, dining room, or bedroom. The cabinet brings a quiet sense of wabi-sabi and minimalism into a contemporary interior with ease.
In very good condition in proportion to its age, with normal signs of age and light wear.
A particularly beautiful and harmonious piece of furniture with strong character and practical storage.
