Signed Ceramic Wall Plaque with Seated Woman, 1970

An expressive vintage wall plaque in glazed ceramic, depicting a stylised seated woman wearing an elegant yellow dress.

The figure is rendered as a bold black silhouette, outlined with lively, almost sketch-like lines. Her upward-facing profile, folded hands and flowing hair give the composition a dreamy and theatrical quality. Warm shades of yellow and brown contrast beautifully with the background in varying tones of blue and green.

The elongated rectangular form and free graphic painting style are characteristic of decorative ceramics from the 1960s and 1970s. The plaque bears a painted signature and the date ’70 in the lower right corner.
