Low rectangular display stand finished in exquisite Tsugaru-nuri lacquer from Northern Japan.

Dimensions: height 7 cm, width 47,5 cm, depth 30 cm.

The surface shows a refined Kara-nuri pattern in shades of red, black, and gold — characteristic of the Tsugaru lacquer technique developed in Aomori. This intricate process involves applying dozens of colored urushi layers, then polishing them by hand to reveal the depth and interplay of color beneath.

Originally used as a koita or display platform for tea utensils, bronze objects, or ikebana. Today, it serves as an elegant wabi-sabi accent — ideal for presenting ceramics, art pieces, or as a refined tray in a contemporary interior.
