Japanese Lacquered Display Cabinet / Kazaridana, 1920s

Stylish Japanese display cabinet from the 1920s, with an elegant asymmetrical layout and a dark lacquered finish. The cabinet has a refined architectural form, with open display spaces, raised side panels and gently upturned decorative ends along the top, giving the piece a graceful and distinctly Japanese silhouette.

Dimensions: height 67 cm, width 82 cm, depth 30.5 cm.

On the right side there is a closed compartment with a removable panel in lighter wood, creating a beautiful contrast with the dark lacquered frame. At the lower left is a low drawer without a handle, discreetly integrated into the design. The open sections are ideal for displaying ceramics, glassware, books, ikebana or small objects, while the closed compartments offer practical storage for smaller items.

This type of compact Japanese cabinet fits beautifully within the Taishō period and works especially well today as a low display piece, small storage cabinet or refined accent in a minimalist, warm or wabi-sabi interior.

Condition: very good vintage condition with normal signs of age, light wear, small scratches and subtle traces of use consistent with age and function; solid, practical and highly decorative.
