Japanese Goban Go Board Low Display Table, 1930s
This Japanese goban – a traditional Go board – is a unique interior accent when used as a characterful low display table.
Dimensions: height 20.5 cm, width 44.5 cm, depth 41 cm.
The thick, square top has a subtle warm wood tone and shows a finely drawn grid, along with delicate signs of use and a soft patina built up over the years.
The block-like top rests on four beautifully sculpted wooden legs with rounded feet, giving the piece a striking silhouette.
In a contemporary interior, it works perfectly as a low display table for ceramics, ikebana, bonsai or art books, but also as a strong pedestal for a plant or sculptural object. A seemingly simple yet very present piece of furniture that instantly brings Japanese atmosphere and calm into the room.
