From the early Showa period (ca. 1930) wooden hibachi that was used as a heater with original copper lining. Made from kuwa (mulberry) and keyaki (zelkova) wood. This piece shows the quality and craftsmanship. This hibachi is almost a century old and is in very good condition with beautiful patina.

Used to heat houses and teahouses in Japan during the Shogun & Samurai era, today these Hibachi are beautiful planters and storage pieces. Great mingei (folk art) piece for the collector.
