Japanese stage wig for a gokenin (Vassal of the Shogun) with original storage case, from the 1940s, Japan

Dimensions of the wig on stand: height 29 cm, width 24 cm, depth 34 cm.

Dimensions of the storage case: height 42 cm, width 30 cm, depth 35 cm.

This stunning Gokenin wig is made from real human hair and expertly styled by skilled artisans.

The wig is in good, used condition and serves as a highly decorative piece.

A Gokenin (御家人) is a vassal or subordinate to the shogun. The term "Gokenin" literally means "house person" or "servant of the family."
