Product Details

A remarkable Japanese school project from the 1990s, made as a graduation commemorative work for the Heisei 7 school year, ca. 1995.

The front has a green blackboard, framed by richly carved wooden panels with floral motifs. The back is covered with green synthetic material and can be used as an announcement board or presentation panel.

Dimensions: height 148 cm, width 80 cm, depth 55 cm.

The woodcarving is composed of individual square panels, each carved in relief with a flower, leaf, or plant motif. The panels show, among others, iris-like flowers, maple leaves, blossoms, tendrils, and other botanical forms. Several panels at the bottom are carved with Japanese names, presumably those of the students who contributed to the project. The black-and-gold plaque at the top reads: “Graduation commemorative work, Heisei 7”, dating the object to around 1995.

The board stands on a solid wooden base with lockable castors, making it easy to move while remaining practical in use as a menu board, announcement board, blackboard, or freestanding presentation object. Beautiful in a shop, studio, restaurant, school interior, or creative workspace.

A unique Japanese interior piece where craftsmanship, school history, and functional design come together.

Shipping & pickup: pickup in Antwerp possible; worldwide shipping on request.
