Japanese Shigaraki Ikebana Vase with Carved Floral Motif, 1970s
A remarkable Japanese ikebana vase from the 1970s, originating from the Shigaraki region.
Dimensions: height 20 cm, diameter 24 cm. The vase is in perfect condition.
The piece has a powerful, rounded form and is decorated with carved floral and branch motifs. The floral design is highlighted with blue-violet tones, which subtly contrast with the warm earthy surface. This interplay of color, texture, and light gives the object a poetic and timeless presence.
The surface ranges from deep browns to black and metallic nuances, characteristic of Shigaraki firing techniques. On the base, a kiln stamp with inscription further marks its authenticity.
This piece is ideal for ikebana arrangements but can just as well be displayed as a sculptural, stand-alone art object in a modern or wabi-sabi interior.
