Japanese Soma Ware Cylindrical Vase, Ikebana, 1970s

Dimensions: height 29 cm, width 13 cm, depth 13 cm.

Across the front runs a beautiful raised relief: a plum-blossom branch with a small bird alighting on it. Just below the rim, a hand-painted gold horse motif has been added—a playful nod to Soma Ware’s iconic running horse.

Marked with the original round sticker label 相馬焼 (Sōma-yaki / Soma Ware).

In lovely original condition with light signs of age and use.

A timeless Japanese interior accent and an excellent flower vase: the slim cylindrical shape gathers bouquets neatly and showcases a few branches or a loose ikebana arrangement beautifully.
