Low Japanese chest with four practical drawers from the Meiji period.
Dimensions: height 37 cm, width 115 cm, depth 40 cm.
This traditional chest of drawers is crafted from paulownia wood and has developed a warm patina over the years.
The tansu is finished with metal handles, corner reinforcements, and transport handles on the sides.
Due to its low height, this practical storage piece also serves as a unique display for plants, ceramics, or other art objects. An authentic tansu that adds a serene accent to any stylish interior.
Ko-dansu were traditionally used to store personal items or clothing and were placed on the floor or on raised platforms.
