Beautiful set (2) of authentic rice bowls made of red lacquered wood (Urushi) decorated with a koi carp, applied with gold paint (Maki-e).

The decoration is hand-painted and signed at the bottom.

This set dates from the Meiji Era (1868-1912).

Beautiful as interior decoration, nice warm red colour.

Dimensions: diameter 12 cm, height 9 cm.
