Organic Japanese Bizen Ikebana Vase – 1970s
This rare Japanese ikebana vase radiates pure wabi-sabi aesthetics. Handcrafted in earthy brown tones with subtle variations and a lightly speckled surface, it strikes a perfect balance between minimalism and organic form. The square base rises elegantly into a gentle torsion, giving the piece a dynamic, sculptural presence.
Dimensions: height 25.5 cm, width 7.5 cm, depth 7.5 cm.
The narrow opening at the top is deliberately understated, making it ideal for a single branch, flower, or a refined ikebana arrangement. Even without flowers, it stands as a powerful autonomous object and eye-catching accent in any interior.
The original wooden storage box (tomobako) bears Japanese calligraphy: 花入 (hanaire – flower vase) along with the maker’s signature, underscoring the authenticity of this unique piece.
With its warm earthy palette and minimalist form, this vase integrates seamlessly into both contemporary and classic interiors.
A remarkable example of Japanese ceramic art that brings the silence and elegance of ikebana into the home.
