Oil on panel, signed bottom right. Symbolistic, surrealistic atmosphere.

Joseph Laureys' painted oeuvre is a colourful world in itself. Beautiful women with a waist like a viola figure in dream landscapes with fabulous creatures. As an autodidact he works diligently on an idiosyncratic surrealist oeuvre. Each painting exudes a romantic, almost fairytale-like fantasy and is characterized by a technical and material quality. From the 1970s onwards he exhibits frequently, both at home and abroad.
