Authentic set of glazed Japanese earthenware jars from the Meiji period, circa 1900.
Exceptionally beautiful aging patina.
One jar has a matte appearance, while the other one has a slightly more glossy glaze. Extremely decorative as a set.
Dimensions: Height 35 cm, diameter 31 cm. In good condition with normal signs of aging. Marutaban Tsubo (マルタバン壷): A traditional Japanese earthenware storage jar. These large pots were historically used to store food and liquids such as rice, salt, and fish paste. They are often adorned with glaze and have a characteristic shape, with a wide belly and narrow neck.
