Pair of Early 20th Century Staffordshire Ceramic Dogs.
A beautiful set of Staffordshire ceramic dogs, dating back to the early 20th century.
Dimensions: height 37 cm, width 28 cm, depth 13 cm.
These charming figurines, originally inspired by the iconic English King Charles Spaniels, were once placed as status symbols in many Victorian and Edwardian interiors.
The dogs have an elegant, stately appearance and are finished with subtle hand-painted details. The original gold decoration has largely worn away, adding to their authentic patina and charm. Over time, light craquelure and some hairline cracks have developed on the surface. A marking in the shape of an 'X' is visible on the bottom.
With their timeless and stylish character, these Staffordshire dogs make a stunning decorative addition to an eclectic interior.
They can be displayed as statement pieces on a mantelpiece, sideboard, or bookshelf, and fit perfectly within classic, rustic, or bohemian styles.
An elegant and decorative duo with a rich history!
