Set of 5 Japanese Arita Porcelain Lidded Bowls, 1970s.
This exquisite set of five small Arita porcelain lidded bowls was crafted during the Shōwa period (1926-1989).
Dimensions of each bowl: Height 7 cm, diameter 9 cm.
These bowls are known as "futamono" (蓋物), a traditional style of lidded bowls used for refined Japanese dishes such as soups or small delicacies.
The bowls are hand-painted with rich polychrome decorations, featuring elegant floral and geometric motifs.
The inside of each lid is also adorned with a delicate floral design, adding to the unique aesthetic of the set.
The set is in perfect condition and comes with the original wooden storage box. The base of each bowl is marked, confirming its origin as traditional Arita-yaki (有田焼) porcelain, one of the most esteemed types of porcelain in Japan.
A stunning and versatile set that is not only functional for serving tea or small dishes but also adds a stylish Japanese touch to any interior as a unique decorative piece.
