Set of Two Antique Metal Bas-Reliefs with Hunting Dogs, c. 1900

Elegant set of two antique bas-reliefs depicting hunting dogs, executed in dark-patinated bronze and framed in warm wooden frames.

The works date from around 1900 and reflect the refined European tradition of sporting art and classical hunting decoration.

Dimensions per piece: height 28 cm, width 44 cm, depth 2 cm.

Both panels depict a standing hunting dog in high relief, each set within a richly detailed natural landscape. One dog is shown moving through a setting of reeds, water and riverside vegetation, while the other stands alert in a wooded landscape with trees, shrubs and open countryside. The animals are powerfully and realistically modelled, with particular attention to posture, musculature, head, ears and tail.

The dark patina, combined with subtle golden highlights on the raised areas, gives the reliefs a rich and sculptural appearance. The interplay of light and shadow enhances the liveliness of the scenes and turns each panel into a distinctive decorative wall object. The wooden frames provide a warm, classical finish and beautifully place the pieces within their historical context.

Each panel is fitted with two hanging points at the top. The set is in good antique condition, with normal signs of age, light wear and natural patina consistent with its age and materials.
