Vintage Kokeshi by Sadao Kishi –Robō 路傍, 1970s.

A beautiful kokeshi by master artist Sadao Kishi, titled “Robō” (路傍), which translates as "roadside" or "wayside".

Dimensions: height 25 cm, diameter 9 cm.
In excellent condition, signed on the bottom and presented in its original box with certification label.

The doll features an elegant, deep mahogany-colored body with finely painted floral motifs in orange, green, and yellow. She has a sleek, stylized hairstyle and a traditional Japanese hair bow in red and brown. Her expression is serene and subdued, with a subtle smile.

A remarkable collector’s piece with a poetic presence – characteristic of Kishi’s work.
