Vintage Sōsaku Kokeshi by Ishida Waichi, 1980s

Small and charming vintage sōsaku kokeshi by Ishida Waichi. The wooden doll has a soft, playful presence and wears a pink kimono with white floral motifs. In her hands she holds a temari ball, a traditional Japanese decorative ball often associated with good fortune.

Dimensions: height 17 cm, diameter 8 cm.

The compact size, fresh pink colour and delicate floral decoration give this kokeshi a sweet yet elegant character. A beautiful collector’s piece within the Japanese sōsaku kokeshi tradition, perfect as a small decorative accent in a stylish interior or as an addition to a kokeshi collection.
