Vintage Sōsaku Kokeshi by Oizumi 大泉, 1970s

Special vintage sōsaku kokeshi from the 1970s, created by Oizumi 大泉.

The doll has a compact, rounded form and a striking, expressive presence. The warm wood shows a lively natural grain, while the darker hair softly flows into the natural surface of the face and back.

Dimensions: height 12 cm, diameter 7 cm.

The body is painted in a deep red tone and decorated with large white chrysanthemum-like floral motifs. The fine eye lines, small red facial detail and organic shape give this piece a quiet, almost sculptural character. Despite its small size, the strong colour contrast makes it a very distinctive object.

Marked on the underside with the red hanko stamp of Oizumi 大泉.

Condition: very good vintage condition with minimal signs of age; well preserved and decoratively strong.
