Vintage Tansu Storage Cabinet with Floral Decor, Japan.
Beautiful Japanese storage cabinet from the 1960s-70s.
Dimensions: height 55 cm, width 44 cm, depth 33 cm.
The top section of the cabinet features two doors that open to reveal eight drawers. Below, there are two larger drawers.
The doors and drawers are adorned with stunning butterfly and floral motifs, partly painted and partly made from fabric inlaid into the wood. All drawers are fitted with metal handles.
This unique cabinet is crafted from paulownia wood, a durable and lightweight type of wood commonly used in Japanese furniture due to its resistance to temperature fluctuations. Its light weight makes it easy to move, which is necessary in smaller Japanese homes.
With its exceptional textile floral decorations and practical drawers, this vintage Japanese cabinet is a unique item that will hold a prominent place in any stylish interior.
Due to its height, this tansu is also ideal as a display for art, flower arrangements, ceramics, and more.
