Rare ikebana ceramic of two connected vases by Noma Gazan.

Dimensions: height 26.5 cm, width 43 cm, depth 27 cm. Weight: 6 kg.
This unique set of two interconnected Ikebana vases is a rare and highly decorative piece from the Agano/Takatori tradition, also known as Natsuyoshi Yaki (夏吉焼). The vases are signed at the base by the artist Noma Gazan, a ceramicist renowned for his experimental and versatile style.
The vases feature an elegant, organic shape with fluid curves that complement each other perfectly. One vase is wider and bulbous, while the other is slimmer and taller. Through their connection during the firing process, they form a harmonious and cohesive whole.

Rich purple tones are enhanced by subtle blue accents and a speckled glaze finish, creating a stunning, almost iridescent effect. This distinctive glaze is typical of the Agano/Takatori style, giving the vases a vibrant and dynamic appearance.

Thanks to their unique shape and wide openings, these vases are perfect for Ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arrangement.
This piece is in perfect condition and is a rare collector’s item.
