Rare Vintage Sosaku Kokeshi by Kiyohara Takao – ca. 1970s

A striking and rare Sōsaku Kokeshi crafted by Kiyohara Takao, a mid-20th-century artist known for his minimalistic yet emotive approach to Kokeshi design. This particular doll showcases his signature style: a simple rounded face with two bold eyes, encased in richly grained, sculpted wood.

Dating from around the 1970s, this piece combines playful abstraction with refined craftsmanship. The natural wood tones and carved grain give the figure a warm, organic character that fits beautifully into both modern and traditional interiors.
