Small Japanese Wooden Pharmacy Drawer Cabinet, 1950s
A small Japanese wooden pharmacy cabinet with one drawer, a metal pull handle, and original medicine advertising labels on the front.
Dimensions: height 13 cm, width 21 cm, depth 24 cm.
This charming cabinet dates from the Shōwa period. It is simple and functional in design, with a warm wood tone, subtle signs of use, and a beautifully restrained silhouette. The drawer offers practical storage for pens, paper, drawing materials, jewellery, or small desk objects.
The front features original Japanese advertising labels. The red label reads “Kōkandō”, a Japanese name associated with medicine sales. The smaller blue label refers to medicine “for colds”, which fits beautifully with the pharmacy context of the object.
The cabinet is in good used condition, with light signs of age consistent with its period and material.
A small but characterful Japanese object, perfect as a desk accessory, storage box, or subtle decorative accent in a contemporary interior.
