Product Details

A charming, hand-made ikebana vase in the Mashiko tradition with clear influence from the Hamada school.

Dimensions: height 11 cm, diameter 8 cm. Condition: good, unsigned.

Thrown from coarse, light-beige clay with a subtle grain and finished with a transparent, warmly toned glaze, it features free brushstrokes in iron brown and spontaneous drops of cobalt blue (gosu). The small, slightly flared mouth and round, full body lend the piece a friendly, organic presence.

This vase embodies the mingei aesthetic—honest materials, visible craftsmanship, and unforced wabi-sabi charm. Perfect for a single flower, a simple branch, or a small seasonal arrangement, it also serves as a decorative, nature-inspired accent that fits effortlessly into both modern and Japanese-inspired interiors.
