Rare Modernist Japanese Ikebana Vase, 1970s
Exceptional hand-crafted ikebana vase from Japan, dating to the 1970s.
Dimensions: height 28 cm, width 22 cm, depth 18 cm.
The vase stands out for its organic, asymmetrical form, with subtle 'deformations' in the body that lend it a sculptural, almost architectural presence.
The surface presents a refined combination of soft off-white with hand-painted blue patterns: delicate vertical lines and small triangular motifs that together create a rhythmic, textile-like effect. The upper section is finished with a celestial blue glaze.
In perfect condition, without any damage. Unsigned, but of high quality and refined craftsmanship.
This piece reflects the spirit of Japanese modernist studio ceramics, where traditional ikebana functionality is combined with bold, decorative design.
A striking interior accent and a highly collectible object from postwar Japanese ceramic art.
