This large-scale mask is hand-carved and beautifully finished in deep red lacquer with black accents and gilded details. Its powerful design, with expressive facial features, radiates both majesty and dynamic energy—characteristic of the mythical shishi (lion-dog) from Japanese folklore.
This exceptional piece dates from the 1920s and is in good condition, with normal signs of age visible in the photos.
