Product Details

Decorative wooden shishi mask (mythical lion), used in traditional Japanese lion dances (shishimai) to ward off evil spirits and bring good fortune.

Dimensions: height 26 cm, width 35 cm, depth 26 cm.

The head is exquisitely carved and lacquered in red, black, and gold. The mane is made of horsehair, and the jaw can be opened wide. Finished with copper rivets.

Dating back to the 1950s-1960s, this piece remains in excellent condition.

A striking and spiritually charged addition to any Japanese interior collection.
