Antique Japanese Root Wood Ikebana Display, 1900s

This unique piece of root wood from the Meiji period was selected for styling and arranging: a sculptural, naturally formed object with a deep dark-brown, beautifully aged surface.

The form rests on three irregularly shaped “legs,” making it stable and visually engaging from every angle.
