Unique Japanese zakuri or silk reel. This is a portable piece dating from the Edo period.

Extremely decorative interior piece with beautifully weathered, aged wood. Wabi Sabi inspiration.

The gear mechanism is still working and the spool is removable and has markings.

Dimensions: height 32 cm, width 53 cm and depth 28 cm.
