Product Details

Antique Japanese earthenware jar or tsubo, originating from the renowned ceramic region of Tokoname (常滑).

This type of jar was traditionally used in tea ceremonies for storing water or dried tea leaves.

The earthenware is coated with a thin layer of greyish-green glaze and features a decorative pattern of vertical and horizontal grooves. Particularly notable are the metal 'fillings' around the vase, which are likely old repairs.

The organic design, combined with the soft, natural color palette, gives this jar a timeless appeal.

A unique interior piece, with a beautiful patina, steeped in Japanese history.

Dimensions: height 48 cm, diameter 32 cm.
