Bamboo Ikebana Stand, Ni-ju-giri Vase, 1930s
This elegant, sculptural ikebana vase, also known as Ni-ju-giri, is carved from solid bamboo.
Dimensions: height 60 cm, diameter 16 cm.
Its form is clean and architectural, with open cut-outs that support flower arranging. The warm bamboo, with its beautifully aged patina, gives the piece a calm and authentic presence.
Inside are two copper reservoirs originally meant to hold water for ikebana. They have not been tested for watertightness; if you prefer to be safe, you can easily use a small glass vase or insert tube instead.
The combination of shape, structure, and material makes this object both a traditional ikebana tool and a striking interior accent.
Beautiful placed on the floor beside a low cabinet or in an entryway, and equally strong as a statement piece with blossoming branches or seasonal greenery.
