Product Details

Byōbu (屏風) is a decorative Japanese folding screen adorned with a hand-painted scene.

When unfolded, its dimensions are: height 92 cm, width 178 cm x depth 2 cm.

This folding screen was painted in the 1960s by Genpoh Morishita and distributed by Ohtgori Kohgei in Tokyo.

The screen consists of four panels, and the painting is set against a golden background. It depicts an imperial scene where music is enjoyed in the open nature, a charming and unique Japanese interior accent.

In excellent condition, sourced from old stock, it comes with the original cardboard packaging.

Byōbu (屏風) literally translates to 'wind wall' and was traditionally used to create private spaces and divide rooms.
