The playing field is in perfect condition and is made of untreated wood, which contrasts beautifully with the dark wood.
The solid wood block is finished with stylishly designed legs. The underside of the playing field and all legs are painted with Japanese calligraphy, including the dating (Taishō period). The Goseki-ire are made of beautifully grained dark wood.
This set has a high decorative value and can still be used to play Go, providing the ideal opportunity to experience this Japanese tradition in an authentic way.
Keyaki is a rare and highly popular wood species from Japan, which is hardly ever exported.
