Product Details

Beautiful Go board made of Keyaki wood, complete with Goseki-ire (碁石入れ) for storing the white and black stones.

Dimensions: height 25 cm, width 40.5 cm, depth 43 cm.

The boxes with lids or Goseki-ire contain 181 black stones and 180 white stones.

The stunning dark Keyaki wood game board dates back to the Taishō period, boasting a beautifully aged patina.

The playing surface is in impeccable condition, crafted from light wood that contrasts elegantly with the dark wood.

The solid wooden block is finished with stylishly designed legs.

The black Goseki-ire are made of plastic, likely Bakelite, and feature red Japanese calligraphy.

This set holds significant decorative value and, of course, can still be used for playing Go, providing an ideal opportunity to experience this Japanese tradition authentically.

Keyaki is a rare and highly popular wood species from Japan, scarcely exported.
