Complete Bento Box set, Taishō period, Japan.

Bento set with accompanying storage/transport box from the 1920s. These boxes were often used to carry meals to work in the field or for picnics.

The box is opened at the front by sliding the panel upwards.

Inside the box, there are two sets of bento. One with two layers and lids, and the other with three layers and lids. Beautiful lacquered wood with lovely traditional wooden joints.

A typical Japanese tool with decorative value. Marked on the bottom.

Very convenient for storing small items: jewelry, hobby materials, stationery,.... Adds a beautiful touch to any interior.
