Decorative Japanese Kōshi Panel with Glass – 1950s
Decorative Japanese kōshi panel from the 1950s, made with a warm wooden frame, refined diamond-pattern latticework, and glass.
Dimensions: height 72 cm, width 108 cm, depth 4 cm.
The clean geometry of the wooden lattice gives the panel a strong sense of rhythm and a calm architectural presence. Combined with the frosted glass, it creates a subtle interplay of light, transparency, and structure, making the piece feel both functional and decorative.
Originally used as a sliding panel or window element in a Japanese interior, it now works beautifully as a wall piece, a decorative architectural feature, or a characterful addition to a minimalist, wabi-sabi, or more eclectic interior. Its restrained design and warm wood tone make it easy to combine with both antique and contemporary spaces.
In good condition relative to its age, with normal light age and signs of use consistent with the piece.
A stylish and characterful panel with a quiet presence. Two available (price is per piece).
