Large authentic Japanese Shigaraki earthenware urn for grain/tea storage from the early 20th century with beige sand patina. This large Shigaraki urn is made from sandy clay typical of the region. Lined with rice paper featuring Japanese calligraphy.
The grain jar rests on a curved, tapered base. The small base protected the grain from winter frost.
With its beautiful beige sand patina and generous dimensions, this Japanese Shigaraki earthenware piece from circa 1900 will add an elegant touch to any interior.
